In the News...

I saw this article about Ferberizing and thought it was interesting. I paid special attention to the part where the author wrote:

Sleep experts reviewed 52 studies of various behavioral treatments that address bedtime problems and night wakings among infants and toddlers; 49 of the studies showed positive results. The trick is to pick a plan you can live with and stick
to it, they concluded. So if crying it out fits within your parenting philosophy, go for it. If not, don't. It's not a debate worth losing sleep over. Either approach will work--though probably not fast enough.

Alright, maybe letting your helpless baby cry alone in the dark may work to force him to sleep through the night before he or she is ready. But when I look at the long-term consequences....I think I'll pass, thank you. Co sleeping is definitely what works best for us.
