To be honest, I can't breastfeed longer than 5 months...my body just gives up. So I don't get an opinion, LOL!

I just weaned my 3 year old son about 2 months ago. I have 6 children and am pregnant with #7 and nursing each one was priceless, PRICELESS! I am much more experienced now than I was when I first begun but in my opinion, nothing compares to how wonderful and special it is! :)

Happy WW. I'm still nursing my 18 month old. I figured he'd start to slow down, but he's just picking up speed as he's going through yet another growth spurt.

It's funny, my oldest nursed until he was almost 2 and the whole time he still seemed like a baby, but as soon as he weaned he seemed so much more grown up!

I think it's lovely -- I hope to make it to at least a year, but I plan to go further! Two years would be fantastic!

Shudder. Regardless of all the research about breastfeeding a toddler, I find it creepy. I wonder if moms do it for the benefits to the child, or for more selfish reasons to keep their children as babies.

THANK YOU for having this blog. I have a 2 year old who I am still breastfeeding. I must admit it's not exactly my choice, I just can't get her to wean for the life of us. But it's still nice to see a blog like yours that can show people how completely OK it is to breastfeed past 6 weeks (sad that people think thats good enough). I mean we are one of the only countries in the world that weans so early and doesn't let our children self-wean. I will be a follower of your blog from now on. I really need to start meeting and talking with other mothers who are going what I'm going through.

And to Anonymous coward poster- your the reason why so many babies don't get breastfed in American..

Well sasha222, I actually breastfed BOTH my children until they self weaned, so don't go blaming me for OTHER peoples choices not to breastfeed. And I posted anonymous so that I wouldn't get hate mail from people who disagree with my take on a photo…gee imagine that.
