I found this great blog featuring nursing pictures. You can share your own photos, or just admire the ones put up.
This article describes a study that found that breastfeeding helps babies develop good vision. According to the article:
Children who are breastfed can be significantly more likely to have better measurements of stereoscopic vision than those who are formula-fed, according to a new UK study. The finding mirrors a growing body of evidence suggesting that breastfeeding is beneficial for visual development; Dr. Atul Singhal of the Institute of Child Health was cited as telling Reuters. In Las Vegas, a woman nursing in public was told that she was violating the local nudity and lewdness laws. Luckily, this story has a happy ending, as apologies were made and she was compensated for their mistake.
According to Dr. Singhal and colleagues, a proposal has already been made to explain the benefit, which attributes this vision enhancing effect to a higher concentration of DHA or docosahexaenoic acid in breast milk than in formula.
That's it for breastfeeding news!
